Hi! Sika Boom is certainly a fascinating product, isn't it?! It's designed for filling gaps and voids in building and construction applications, so hasn't been tested for sound proofing or use in vehicles. In light of that we can't recommend it for your suggested application - sorry!

Hi there Allan, you need to prime all substrates prior to installing levelling compounds (ie. the installed Sikafloor Level PRO). Alternatively, you can install Sikafloor Level Pro Finish 0-4mm skim coat which is self-priming. Hope this helps!

@@SikaNewZealand Thanks, I just saw the Level Pro Finish product after I bought the bag of Level 15. Is the Pro Finish pourable. The data sheet says apply with a trowel with pressure. I assume thats just for a skim coat? Re the 11W+ primer I have, would I dilute that 3 parts water to 1 part primer for the existing SLC? Thanks

@@allanpennington, yes you are correct on both points - Sikafloor Level PRO Finish is not flowable, it needs to be trowelled. And yes, the Sika Primer-11 W+ ratio is spot on. Good luck!

Hi Allan, sorry, it's not ideal to part mix a bag of product. This is because you can't ensure a full and correct dispersion of the powdered ingredients if you only take a portion of it to mix up.

Hi Jane, unfortunately we have had to discontinue the brush shown in the video due to ongoing supply issues. However you still might be able to find the odd one at your local hardware store - it's called the Sika BlackSeal Elastic Brush. I understand your comment about using a normal paint brush for the job, and not managing very well! We suggest using something like a PAL Block Brush, they are designed for use on blockwork and aren't too coarse. You should be able to find them at your local hardware store too. Good luck!

It is not designed to provide UV protection and is only intended for below ground applications. The patching mortar you talk about at the beginning in the tools section - I assume is the same product you use at 2:13 in the flushing section - and, if so, what is this product and where do I get it in NZ? Also, what’s the best product to use to form the “triangular fillet of mortar” mentioned at 2:57? Just a masonry mortar type s? Thanks

Correct application per coat is one litre for every 2 square metres. You need to apply 2 coats. Container holds 20 litres. Check for local prices in your area. As you can see in the video, brush on application is fast and easy.

Are you using the 6 mil as additional waterproofing membrane? That is a good suggestion I would wait until the final was cured more though. Great idea!
